Hi I am currently studying your book, The Ladder of Jacob. I was curious, if you feel that the Bible was written by man. If so, why do you feel that there is a need to extend the Bible to make sense of it? A similar question is: why does the Bible need to make sense if it is written by man?
I’m not sure “written by man” is the right way to think about this. Inevitably, some human being wrote some words on a piece of papyrus or parchment. In this sense, the Bible is indisputably “written by man.” But people have always believed that God speaks to human beings and can guide them in what they write down, indeed, to use the biblical idiom, can “put His words in their mouth.” It’s what I believe, too.
